Congratulations on making it here. It’s actually quite an accomplishment.
When you consider the forces that haven’t been too open or supportive to people over 50 having sex. It wasn’t malicious, or really active or probably even conscious. Nonetheless, it hasn’t really been a thing.
Except that it is. Senior sex and senior sexuality is important to you and us and many like us. The burgeoning appreciation and support for women’s perspectives on all things, especially sexual, help make this a wonderful moment for people over 50.
There’s no age-out for sex. Everyone is welcome as long as they can feel and enjoy.
You’re especially welcome because unlike any other time in your life, you’re freer than you’ve ever been. Most of you have achieved many decades of life and accompanying wisdom. You don’t have as much mental baggage that you may have had in your youth.
You are unconstrained by the need or ability to make babies. So your criteria for partners can focus on your experience. You don’t need a parent for your kids. Just someone to be kind and considerate.
You are probably a lot less concerned about your looks than you were when you were young. And maybe you share a growing focus on what’s inside a person and how they make you feel.
You know yourself better and know what makes you happy and what doesn’t.
You have a lot of freedom. Perhaps your body has some serviceable parts. You’re likely doing better than most people your age in history. We have tons of life still in us and have never been in a more abundant and free moment in history.
How do you plan on enjoying it?
